epistemology = def. branch of philosophy that studies knowledge.

This word has been uttered by me thousands of times along the years, speaking to students in lectures or private conversations with them or colleagues, friends or even writing it. Tow branches of philosophy are' epistemology' and 'ontology'.

While ontology is the branch that refers to what exists, epistemology is the branch that deals with how we come to know what exists, let me give you an example.
